Lags & Ping Issues

If you are experiencing lag, it is important to distinguish between Ping (internet connection), TPS (server performance), and FPS (your computer's performance).

You can type word "lag" on the server and it will show if lags are caused by client issues or server issues. Do not spam this, rather use commands like: /tps, /ping, [ping] (in chat)...

📶 Ping & Connection Issues

High ping causes delay in actions (breaking blocks, eating, hitting entities).

Check your Ping

The most accurate way to check your connection to our server is via /ping command, you can also share it into the chat with [ping]. There you can see the most recent values.

Another way is via the Minecraft Server List:

  1. Go to your Multiplayer menu.
  2. Hover over the green signal bars next to the server icon.
  3. It will show a number in ms (milliseconds). Lower is better.

Improve Connection (VPN)

If you have unstable internet or bad routing, using Cloudflare WARP (1.1.1.1) may significantly improve your ping.

However, standard VPNs are blocked. To use this specific tool, you must unlock permission.

Requirements to unlock:

  • At least 2 hours of playtime on the server.
  • OR have a @Linked Member account (Type /discord link).

How to enable:

  1. Run the command: /allowvpn
  2. If you meet the requirements, the server will whitelist your username for VPN usage.
  3. You can now connect using Cloudflare WARP.
☁️ Cloudflare WARP Installation

If you have unlocked VPN permission (via /allowvpn), you can use Cloudflare WARP to potentially improve your connection routing.

1. Download & Install

  1. Go to one.one.one.one.
  2. Click the button for your operating system (Windows, macOS, etc.) to download the installer.
  3. Run the file and install the application.
  4. If you have trouble installing, check the Official Setup Guide.

2. How to Use

  1. Open the Cloudflare WARP program. You can find it by searching your computer or looking for the orange cloud icon in your system tray (near the clock).
  2. Click the large toggle switch to turn it ON.
  3. Verify it says "Connected" or "WARP ON".

⚠️ Important Notes

  • When to use: We recommend turning WARP ON before you connect to the server.
  • No Guarantees: This tool changes how your data travels to us. It helps many players with bad routing, but it may not fix every lag issue.
  • Side Effects: Because it changes your connection, it might cause issues with other services (like streaming sites or banking). We recommend turning it OFF when you are not playing Minecraft.
  • Regional Restrictions: Please note that Cloudflare WARP is blocked and does not work in some countries (e.g., China, Russia, Iran).
Use at your own risk

Using /allowvpn makes you responsible for your connection. If your account is used for rule-breaking via VPN, your main account will be held accountable.

Keep in mind that other people using VPN can violate rules, and you can get potentionally banned too, so use this tool ONLY if it's really needed!

🐢 Server Performance (TPS)

Sometimes the server itself might be processing too much data. You can check the server health using the command /tps.

  • 20.0: Perfect performance.
  • 17.0 - 19.9: Good performance (standard for survival).
  • Below 12.0: Noticeable server-side lag.

If the TPS is high (17+) but you are lagging, the issue is likely on your side (FPS or Ping).

You should always report low TPS issues before you loose items other issues happen!

📉 Client FPS & Visual Settings

If your game is stuttering or freezing, you likely have low FPS (Frames Per Second).

For the best experience, we recommend using Fabric with optimization mods instead of standard Optifine:

Game Settings

Adjust these in ESC -> Options -> Video Settings:

  • Render Distance: Lower it (e.g., 8-10 chunks).
  • Graphics: Set to Fast.
  • Particles: Set to Minimal.

Server Settings (/settings)

We have built-in settings menu to help you disable heavy server visuals. Run /settings and disable the following:

  • Visible Holograms: Hides floating text at spawn and other areas.
  • Scoreboard: Hides the sidebar info, which can clean up your screen.
  • Nametag: Hides names above players to reduce entity rendering.
  • Special Fonts in Scoreboard: Disabling this can help if you experience rendering glitches or lag from custom resource pack fonts.

You can try disabling server resource pack, own client resource packs & mods!
